This year’s winners included Robert Scott (Prof. Dan Schrage Advisor), Sumant Sharma (Prof. Narayanan Komerath Advisor), Natasha Barbely (Prof. Krish Ahuja Advisor), Nicolas Reveles (Prof. Marilyn Smith Advisor) and Daniel Prosser (Prof. Marilyn Smith Advisor).

The aforementioned AE students have been awarded 2012 Vertical Flight Foundation Scholarships from the American Helicopter Society (AHS). Each of them will receive a monetary award and will be honored at the AHS Forum in May.

Mr. Sumant Sharma who is advised by Prof. Narayanan Komerath and 2nd from the left in the photo, also won the Georgia Tech and Southern Regional Lichten Competition sponsored by the AHS. Sumant is a junior and his paper is titled “Aerodynamic Instability Modes for a Load Slung from a Helicopter”.
